Our latest bag design revisits the house’s initial leather goods study of round vintage coin purses. An archival chain necklace covered in silk muslin from our 2001 collection is the inspiration for the strap of the bag.

Maison Margiela’s bags epitomise the nonconformity at the heart of the house. The genderless proposals subvert the memories of classic ladies’ handbags and evocative silhouettes in the creation of new shapes and proportions. Distinguishable by their singular form language, styles such as the Glam Slam, the Snatched, the 5AC and the New Lock are contemporary icons in the fashion landscape.
